Paper Money Collecting Expirencies a Welcome Respite
63Great Year so Far for Paper Money Dealers and Collectors
Both dealers and collectors alike have had quite a good year so far. What do I mean by this, as a new collector I learnt very fast that the art of collecting Paper Money was becoming big business for some serious collectors and dealers this summer.
One of the first articles I read about Paper Money Events this August, captioned the Symthe Auction in July, where Fredrick Mayer Confederate Notes and Bonds raised so much interest that a certain gentleman by the name, Pierre Fricke was considering taking out a morgage to own a piece of the action. This actually got my attention and I started finding out more and more about this fascinating hobby. You know how I feel about it if you've been following my Paper Money Collecting blog, I find paper money fascinating and very educative.
Then there was the 31st Annual International Paper Money Show held in Memphis, Tenn. that made $4,479,893 that is including all fees etc. but $4 million! That is a high number for paper money or so I thought. Anyway since then I've found that this year has seen a rise in the value of paper money steadily and interest in the hobby has also been on the increase.
Why the Respite in Sales etc?
I have been made to understand that there is a lot activity during the first 8 months in the Paper money market scene and then there is a lull duing the next 4 months. Usually dealers find this quite disconcerting, but not this year. The great first months of the year have left them rich in pocket and low on supply of the much demanded paper money that a respite is now very welcome so that they can catch their breaths, find more paper money for the comming busy season which will come round again as the new year starts.
Again I watch the simple law of economics supply and demand at play in my hobbies performance. The huge demand for collectable paper money has meant higher price tags. What is on supply has been swept up and so the supply of highly favoured collectable banknotes has deminished and the demand increasing simultaneously.
The respite is welcome, more dealers are turning to auctions to get the highest prices for their choice items,,, but if you are one of those collecting and investing for higher monetary gains watch the market closely as prices are bound to drop eventually if not in the short term them definitely in the long term.

I enjoyed reading your hub page on collecting paper money. Collecting and selling rare coins and paper money is one of my own hobbies. Which is why I set up my own site, maybe you would enjoy visiting when you have a spare minute http://www.rarecoinsforsale.net
I usually admire people collecting something, as in paper money. Count me in to be admired. I am collecting paper money, too. There are great stories or unforgettable ones as I began my acquisition of those paper bills.
Thanks for sharing!
